How much does it cost to track Mountain Gorillas?

Explore the rise of virtual tours and immersive experiences shaping the future of travel in 2024.

A gorilla tracking permit includes entry to the National Park, experienced ranger guides who will lead your trek while sharing fascinating gorilla facts, one unforgettable hour with the gorillas, and—most importantly—bragging rights in the form of a gorilla tracking certificate (in Uganda) and countless selfies (no matter where you track!). Woo hoo!

Of course, the permit is just one part of the adventure—you’ll also need to budget for transport, accommodation, meals, tips, and souvenirs to make your experience truly unforgettable.

By showcasing different perspectives, you encourage readers from all walks of life to engage with your content, feel represented, and contribute their own viewpoints. This ultimately enhances the value of the platform, transforming it into a more inclusive and dynamic community.

UWA’s price list, or “conservation tariff,” covers a range of activities, including National Park and Wildlife Reserve entry fees, gorilla and chimpanzee tracking, boat rides, game drives, nature walks, volcano and mountain hiking, and biking.

Pricing is categorized for international tourists (foreign non-residents), foreign residents (expats), and East African citizens, including Ugandans (domestic visitors).
